"Just got the snare, sounds amazing, possibly even perfect, with looks to match, love the wood. Thankyou so much. Thanks again for the (awesome) snare". Felix Nicholson, UK
"I just played the snare today, it responses well on ghost notes. It has a warm tone and full-bodied sound at medium pitch. When tuned tight it has a high-end "crack" sound without sounding "hollow" at all even at high tensions. I have never owned a Purpleheart snare before, but if you are after a change form maple or birch, I would reccommend purpleheart". Vincent, Brisbane, AU
"My 13"x7" Zenzian Tasmanian Oak Stave snare drum is akin to experiencing a thunderstorm from the cosy confines of a countryside cottage, while nestled by an open log fire; in others words, it produces a powerful, cutting 'crack' which always retains underneath a delightful and comforting warmth, providing a full-bodied tone. Not only is this a deeply musical snare, but it is also a profoundly versatile one. I can confidently use this drum across a wide range of genres, in live or studio environments. It is sensitive, which is great for the articulation of rudiments and complex rhythms while at the same time providing a rich tone and a general prominence that improve the overall sound of one's kit. Great for small jazz ensembles all the way to amplified rock-based music. Thanks to its 7" depth, the snare has a wide tuning range, and will sound great way down the snare-tone register as a sort of tenor/tom like snare or up high, almost like a soprano piccolo with warm resonance. Essentially for me, this drum represents in the real-world that long-sought perfect snare sound that had formerly existed only in the ideal. Australian made shell from Australian wood. Brilliant. Thanks!"

Hi Justin. Firstly, I'm really pleased with the Blackwood snare, I found it to have a vast tuning spectrum and such a sweet-wooden crack to it's tone, so thanks again for putting your passion and craftsmanship in this drum. Mark Tredinnick, QLD, AU
